Flourishing within and beyond nuclear families
Does God have a positive vision for single people? How does this fit with the Bible's positive view of marriage and family? Listen to my latest conversation with Dani Treweek.
Churches are often seen as quite favourable environments for nuclear families. But perhaps they are seen as less favourable for people who are single. Dani Treweek is showing that that’s not the picture in the Bible and it shouldn’t be the picture in the church.
Instead, there is a very positive vision for singleness in the Bible, alongside a positive view of marriage and family. Dani is a post-doctoral theological researcher, author, and speaker with a focus on biblical singleness, sexuality, theological retrieval, and worldview formation. She is the author of The Meaning of Singleness which just won the Australian Christian book of the year award. She has written for publications including Christianity Today, ABC Religion & Ethics, and The Gospel Coalition Australia.
This conversation with Dani is rich, it’s nuanced, and it shows the incredibly positive vision that Christianity has for human community.
